Aquatic vegetation was assessed on 56 sampling sites within 23 waterbodies and total of 43 macrophyte species were determined. For each sampling site individual species abundaces were assessed and total macrophyte cover, community diversity, evenness, species richness metrics were calculated.

Macrophytes were  classified into functional groups according the standard approach for assessing the hydromorphology of lakes in Europe. Habitat types following the EUNIS classification, NATURA 2000 and National Habitat Classification System Official Gazette of RS, no. 35/2010 were distinguished according to the aquatic vegetation data.

Additionaly in 2020 on order to fulfill the macrophyte database for aerial imagery processing aquatic vegetation was assessed in nearly 700 new reference points.
